2013_10_17_Pepperlandsmall.jpg The Chicago International Film Festival is ongoing and filmgoers will need a drink between all the movies, popcorn eating and emotions the festival selections evoke. The J.W. Marriott Chicago, the host hotel of the festival, has created a cocktail you can re-create at home.

Inspired by the film My Sweet Pepper Land, which is showing tonight, mixologist Damian Arms came up with this spicy sweet cocktail combining hot pepper and creme de cacao. Get it? Sweet pepper?

Anyway, the drink is $10 at the Marriott, or, if you want to try to bring a touch of the exotic to your home bar, the recipe is below.

My Sweet Pepper Land

1.5 ounces Absolut Peppar
.75 ounce Orgeat Syrup
.5 ounce Creme de Cacao
.5 ounce Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

Combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with a red chili pepper or, if you don't have one, a twist of lemon.
