Chicago's Hemmingbirds is one of those acts we find ourselves listening to more and more as the cold weather kicks in. Lead singer Yoo Soo Kim has warm, smooth as cocoa vocals (though sometimes rough and guttural), and the vibrant pop melodies make these grey days a little less dreary.

And wouldn’t you know it, just as the temps drop, the band releases a remix / remaster of an old single, "My Love, Our Time Is Now," and a new video to boot. The track is the opener for the band’s most recent album, The Vines of Age, their sophomore effort that shows them taking a slightly grittier, rockier approach to their pleasant brand of pop.

Check out the official video below—it premiered yesterday on Pop’stache and was produced with the help of Rhapsody Productions. If you like, get the single through their Bandcamp page for a buck and catch them when they perform live at Subterranean Nov. 1. Also performing will be Champaign-Urbana pop act Elsinore, who recently dropped a new album, PUSH/PULL, and will be celebrating that night. Local folk quartet The Wild Family opens. (Apparently The Wild family was never confirmed to play by the venue / promoter, so they will not be appearing.)

Hemmingbirds play 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at Subterranean, 2011 W North Ave. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 day of, 17+
