The theme for tonight's Curbside Splendor Publishing's Salon Splendor series at Hungry Brain is—surprise—"brains." Featured readers include Nathan Hoks, editor and letterpress printer at Convulsive Editions and author of The Narrow Circle and Reveilles ; Rachel DeWoskin, professor of memoir and fiction at the University of Chicago and author of Big Girl Small, Foreign Babes in Beijing and Repeat After Me; and Laura Krughoff, author of My Brother's Name and frequent Second Story performer.

The readings begin at 9 p.m., doors open at 8 p.m. Books by the authors will be available to purchase. Reminder: Hungry Brain is cash only so load up on dead tree currency.

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Anthony (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
