Last Minute Plans: Eat F#cking Cake!

If you’d like to indulge in some art, head over to Lake Street tonight, October 25, where you can partake in a multi-discipline “pARTy”—charmingly titled LET THEM EAT F#CKING CAKE!—that promises “celebrity foil, glamour and camp.” This fundraising event is free to attend, goes from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. and will include style guru Donedo, an all-live drag revue put on by Lipstick & Lyrics: Sex is in the Heel and a set by DJ NOSMO. Featured artists at the event are: Lauren Brescia, Laura Collins, Missy Dahl, Dan Polyak and Nikki Proctor.

On top of promising zany fun, a portion of proceeds from the event will go towards the Chicago House charity, which provides housing services to those affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty, homelessness or gender nonconformity.

We particularly enjoy Missy Dahl’s moody portraits, Polyak’s pronounced retro style, and Proctor’s bold use of color, and think the entire event will be fun, a little freaky, and extremely colorful. There are even a few surprises planned for the evening. If you can make room in your Halloween weekend, we recommend checking this one out. No word on if there’s actually any f#cking cake, though.
