Wild Belle plays Metro on October 26

Well, after we finished writing this we learned that no tickets, not even at the door, are available for the Desaparecidos show, ergo the adjusted headline before publishing. We kept it in to educate anyone who might've bought tickets to the show expecting some sort of Bright Eyes permutation, so view it as an educational paragraph for ticket-holders. Sorry about that, everyone else.

Into It. Over It. at Schubas
Into It. Over It. is Chicagoan Evan Weiss and he's been playing music forever. That probably explains while his latest album under the Into It. Over It. moniker sounds like it could've had its release show at The Empty Bottle in 1997 just as easily as it is having it at Schubas tonight. It's the skewed indie, with wandering guitar chords and heartfelt vocals that grasp tenuously to staying in key and it's backed by a sincerity un-shrouded in any sense of cool, making it a welcome listen to these ears. He plays both solo and with a full band so his songs are all strong enough to stand on their own with only a single vocal or guitar, but we think they're best heard channeled through a full band, as they will be tonight.

Friday, Oct. 25, at Schubas, 3159 N Southport, 9 p.m., $16, 18+

Desaparecidos at Metro
We realize the vast majority of concert goers know Conor Oberst best from his days fronting Bright Eyes, probably after they turned into a slick soft-rock outfit, and while we believe his talents were well served by that band they were better served by Desaparecidos. You see, this was his angry (even more) political side project that dipped into his punk (even more) DIY roots and slapped them against the stage floor to splatter blood everywhere. Desaparecidos released one album in 2002 and then lay dormant until beginning to release a string of singles starting last year. This should be a vicious show ad expect to see more than one stunned fan who thought they were getting something equivalent to a Bright Eyes show.

Friday, Oct. 25, at Metro, 3730 N Clark, 9 p.m., $28 SOLD OUT, 18+

Wild Belle and Saint Rich at Metro
Our illustrious E-in-C Mr. Sudo just will not shut up about this brother- and sister-led band. Wild Belle's airy Caribbean rhythms and melodies that gently brush against your cheek evoke feelings of an early summer day. The sun is out and shining brightly overhead yet the wind is cool against your cheek. Are you at the beach? in the middle of a field? Twirling atop a mountain? Who knows for certain, but Wild Belle evokes all those feelings in us when we listen to them. No wonder Chuck won't shut up about 'em!

Need us to sweeten the pot? Fine. Opening is Saint Rich, whose new album Beyond the Drone does an excellent job of combining T. Rex fuzz and sexiness with a swagger that flits between brushing hips with country and brushing lips with Thin Lizzy. This is one of the most satisfying albums we've hear in quite a while.

Saturday, Oct. 26, at Metro, 3730 N Clark, 9 p.m., $14, 18+
