It's that time of year again, when the weather get just a bit too nippy to make browsing a farmers market enjoyable. Luckily, the weather isn't going to slow down Green City Market one bit, as their indoor market begins on Saturday.

Starting at 8 a.m., the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is your new spot for local food. To celebrate the move, Chef Jared Van Camp (Nellcote, Old Town Social, Leghorn) will be doing the chef demo starting at 10:30 a.m. If you ask nicely, maybe he'll give you some chicken-cooking tips. Other upcoming demo chefs include Paul Fehribach (Big Jones) and Sarah Stegner (Prairie Grass).

The market stays indoors all winter. Always check the schedule before you go, as there are a few days off. Right now, Nov. 30 and Dec. 14 are not market days.

In other Green City Market news, the Daily Meal has named GCM the third-best farmers market in America, beaten only by the Pike Place market in Seattle and the Downtown Farmers Market in Des Moines.
