Fox & Obel Finally Shuts Down Its Website

One would think when former Fox & Obel announced it was closing last month they would have shuttered everything related with the former gourmet grocer including its website and social media presence.

Stupid us for thinking that. Fox & Obel just shut down its website after the Tribune reported it was still online and taking online orders as late as midday Thursday. A customer who placed an order that never arrived on fox-obel.com reached out to the Tribune this week, which prompted the paper to contact the grocer about the website’s status.

The Illinois Attorney General’s office got involved, prompting Fox & Obel to finally get around to posting a notice on its website acknowledging they are no longer in business. The company plans to refund all orders placed on the website.
