Illinois BBQ Alliance's 'Autumn Smoke' Brings BBQ, Fellowship Under One Roof

While the sights, smells, and tastes of barbeque are best associated with summer, the fact is that they can carry over into autumn quite well. In fact, the smell of many meats smoking low and slow is an ideal complement to cold, damp, and cloudy days. Ultimately, barbeque serves to bring people together.
Using barbeque as a means of connecting people of all religious, ethnic, political and socioeconomic classes is the mission of the Illinois BBQ Alliance and their 'Autumn Smoke' at Joe’s on Weed. Autumn Smoke is a great way to spend the day meeting people and enjoying a whole hog cooked by pitmaster Phil Wingo, brisket from Bub City and competition-style ribs from Larry “Duce” Raymond of Sweet Baby Ray’s.
There are also demonstrations in cooking and slicing brisket from Smoque’s Barry Sorkin and a butchering demonstration from The Butcher & Larder owner Rob Levitt.
Tickets are available for Sunday's smoke here.
