We've been predicting the bursting of the local craft beer bubble for close to two years now only to see it continue to grow with no end in sight. So we won’t be a doomsayer this time while noting the latest player to hop on the bandwagon: Medieval Times.

The Schaumburg-based Renaissance-themed dinner and a show palace is embracing craft beer and partnered with Chicago Scene (you know, the geniuses behind the World’s Largest Boat Party) with Ale Quest Nov. 22 - 24. The lineup of craft breweries is impressive and includes popular local houses like Revolution, Finch’s, Half Acre, Metropolitan, Ale Syndicate, Lake Bluff, Tallgrass, Two Brothers and Goose Island among the over 60 participating. Packages for the festival are reasonably priced; tickets start at $34 for the festival only to $69 for the fest and a VIP dinner and a show package. And we’re fans of renaissance faire entertainment here at Chicagoist, even the overblown variety offered by Medieval Times.

In fact, the only thing that would keep us from attending is the partnership with Chicago Scene. We can imagine having to explain to someone seated next to us that the knight’s battles aren’t really to the death while wondering if we might catch some airborne communicable disease that will require a winter taking antibiotics.
