Our top picks for what's happening in the dance world this weekend.

Chicago Dance Crash: KTF Championship

Chicago Dance Crash’s “Keeper of The Floor” competition returns to Mayne Stage tonight for the last time this year. “Chicago's ONLY full-scale, long-running dance competition” features dancers of all types and styles competing for the title in an amped-up atmosphere where the audience chooses the winner. As always, the raucous Mr. Mattrick Swayze will be your host and provide the laughs between rounds.

Tickets are $15 ($25 for preferred seating). Show begins tonight at 9:30pm. 1328 Morse Ave.

Chicago Human Rhythm Project: Che Malambo

Chicago Human Rhythm Project introduces us to Che Malambo this weekend at Athenaeum Theatre as part of their annual Global Rhythms performance. Choreographer Gilles Brinas has adapted the Argentinian Gaucho style for the stage featuring “bombos” (large drums) and “boleadoras” (ropes with stones attached) to accentuate the foot-stomping rhythms.

Tickets are $15-$47 (Get 10% off with Thanks4Giving). Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8pm. 2936 N. Southport.

Paige Caldarella: Off Center

Columbia College Professor Paige Cunningham Caldarella presents her latest work at Links Hall this weekend as part of her Chicago Dancemakers Forum Project. Off Center mixes contemporary ballet with voguing as her dancers straddle that fine line between exaggerated confidence and complete insecurity.

Tickets are $5-$10. Showtimes are Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7pm. 3111 N. Western.
