The snow that fell Monday hasn't completely stuck and right now it feels more like December or January outside—doubly so if you have a neighbor who has already put up holiday lights—but things will get better weather-wise once we get through today. Skilling Central predicts a high temperature of 34 degrees, which is perfect for mid-December but we'll just have to deal with today. Skilling Central also says this is the chilliest early season surge of air to reach Chicago in 17 years. At least the sun won't be obscured by clouds all day—we're already enjoying sunlight filtering through our kitchen windows. Northwest winds will compound the chill as we head into the evening and the mercury drops to the upper 20s.
