A couple weeks back we wrote of the Chicago History Museum’s attempt to crowdsource a future exhibit, the first museum in America to attempt this. The next phase in their project started Monday as the top 16 themes were revealed and put up to a bracket-style vote.
The top 16 ideas have been placed in categories based on similarity and include the following matchups: “Labor & Industry vs. Neighborhoods;” “Architecture vs. Lake Michigan/Chicago River;” “Food and Drink Vs. Music;” “Chicago Authors vs. Chicago in Pop Culture;” “Prohibition Era/Roaring ‘20s vs. Sports;” “The Great Chicago Fire vs. Weather;” “Chicago Women vs. Innovators and Entrepreneurs;” and “Marshall Field’s vs. Transportation.”
Voting will end March 17 and people interested in voting may do so on the History Museum's website and at the NBC Chicago Facebook app. Voters age 18 and older will qualify for a chance to win a weekend for two at the Palmer House Hilton and an annual membership to the Chicago History Museum.
