As Chuck stated in our forecast, Chicago is under a rare tornado watch until 4:00 p.m. today. We're hoping the worst passes the city by, but, as a precaution, the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications is urging Bears fans to be careful.
Per the Chicago Tribune Facebook page:
The storms are expected to enter Cook County between 9 a.m. and noon, with the most severe weather impacting the city between noon and 3 p.m. Thunderstorms are expected to continue until at least 6 p.m. The plan is to move fans to shelter inside the stadium ahead of time. OEMC has staff inside the stadium's command center for all major events.
Be safe, Bears fans! As WBBM's Steve Grzanich points out, the tornado watch for Chicago is a PDS--that's particularly dangerous situation.
