- Well, that took longer than expected. When we first covered the opening of endgrain, we heard that liquor was coming in a matter of weeks. It's been six months but better late than never, right? Zagat Chicago reports that endgrain finally has a license and will start serving wine and beer today. Cocktail are coming soon and the place will still allow BYOB since so many customers have gotten used to it.
- Somehow we missed this news when it first broke: Q-BBQ is coming to the city. The bib-gourmand winning barbecue spot will be opening a Lakeview location in Mid-December at 714 W. Diversey. This will be the third location, along with one in Naperville and one in Lagrange.
- Lyfe Kitchen, the healthy fast-casual chain with the strange name, has officially opened its first Chicago location in River North. Led by Executive Chef Art Smith, the new spot offers humanely-raised meat, local products, craft beer and a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lyfe is at the corner of Clark and Hubbard, and will bring a welcome healthy, fast option to River North. Quinoa-buttermilk pancakes, anyone?
