Detroit 92, Bulls 75
The saying goes that "when it rains it pours" and that's what happened to the Bulls in a fateful third quarter at the United Center Saturday night. The Pistons outscored Chicago 24-9 in the third quarter and took advantage of a depleted Bulls roster. Taj Gibson started in place of Luol Deng and played with an eight-man rotation all game. Gibson led the Bulls with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Mike Dunleavy scored 16 points and Carlos Boozer added 13 for the Bulls. Brandon Jennings led all scorers with 33 points for Detroit as the Pistons evened their record at 10-10.
In case you missed it Friday night Northern Illinois had its chances of a second straight BCS bowl berth ripped from them with a stinker of a performance in the Mid-American Conference title game. Bowling Green quarterback Matt Johnson threw five touchdown passes—four in the first half as the Falcons buils a 33-13 halftime lead—and outplayed the more heralded Jordan Lynch. Lynch rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns but was only 21 of 40 for 219 yards through the air with a touchdown and to interceptions
