2013_12_11_24hour.jpg We’re less than a week away from The Second City That Never Sleeps: 24 Hour, The Second City’s annual 24-hour holiday marathon of music and comedy formerly known as “Letters to Santa.”

The lineup for the Dec. 17-18 event is loaded with a who’s who of comedians and musicians including Portlandia and former Saturday Night Live cast member Fred Armisen joining Second City performers and alumni for the improvised festivities. Internet cat sensation Lil Bub also makes her Second City debut.

The music lineup includes Bob Mould (Husker Dü, Sugar), Nina Nastasia, Sally Timms (The Mekons), J.C. Brooks & The Uptown Sound and The Hungry Pilgrims. Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), Bush and St. Vincent will join the party live via video chat, as will Louise Post and Nina Gordon (Veruca Salt) for their first performance together in 15 years.

An auction will coincide throughout the event with the featured items including two tickets to an SNL taping and a recording session with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio. Tickets to The Second City That Never Sleeps: 24 Hour are $20 and available at the Second City's Box Office throughout the event, as long as seats are available. Doors open Tuesday, 12/17 at 5:00 p.m. and the show runs from 6 p.m. on the 17th until 6 p.m. Dec. 18. If you can't make it to Second City the show will stream live on gigity.tv or the Letters to Santa website.
