Elemeno Pea at Redtwist Theatre.
On stage this week, you’ll find a holiday show for the cynics, a little on-stage poetry and an exposing one act-play.
The Santaland Diaries
The stage version of David Sedaris’ hilarious tale of the horrors of being a mall elf during Christmastime is just the right amount of holiday un-cheer. The show runs through Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont, 773-975-8150 or online.
Dylan
Sidney Michaels' early-‘60s play follows Welsh poet Dylan Thomas on the road during a booze-filled lecture circuit in America. The show runs through Sunday, Dec. 22.
Red Theater Chicago at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-569-3454 or online.
Elemeno Pea
We’re intrigued by Clybourne Park director Steve Scott’s newest production, a searing one act that pokes fun at well-to-do Martha’s Vineyard socialites. The show runs through Sunday, Jan. 12.
Redtwist Theatre, 1044 W. Bryn Mawr, 773-728-7529 or online.
