Glazed And Infused, Butcher & Larder Unleash Pork Doughnut Sandwich On Chicago Tomorrow

By Lisa White in Food on Dec 20, 2013 4:00PM

When it comes to food and getting our attention, we learned this week that all you have to do is utter three little words; apple fritter bun. Glazed and Infused tipped us off yesterday on Twitter about a specialty sandwich being offered this weekend that includes the promise of just that.

Glazed partnered with The Butcher & Larder on a collaborative sandwich offered at the Noble Square butchery this weekend. Starting 10 a.m. Saturday you can order a Virtue Cider braised pork sandwich on an apple fritter bun with apple mostarda. The cost is $12 and includes chips and a drink. Only the promise of Rob Levitt braised pork sandwiched between magical apple fritters is enough to get us out of the house on a dreary Saturday morning.

Glazed will also be setting up a pop up shop to sell doughnuts at Butcher & Larder tomorrow. No word yet on what kind, but we’re hoping some of the Gale Gand specialty doughnuts make it in the mix. Gand created two holiday doughnuts that are available exclusively at Glazed locations until Dec. 24. Options are either an egg nog filled doughnut with rum glaze and fresh nutmeg or a chocolate doughnut topped with white chocolate and crushed peppermint stick. We’ll try and snag a few for later after hopefully devouring that pork and fritter concoction tomorrow.
