Christmas is for children, but Monday night's "Richmas" rock show at Township is certainly for those who like to "unwrap" some adult "holiday cheer" with a wink and nudge.

Actually, I Love Rich, the local rock band hosting this annual holiday spectacle, isn't so much going to give you a wink and a nudge so much as they will wave their genitals in your face. They put up no pretense as to their after party interests.

We're not sure how songs like "Let's Fuck All Night," "Touch My SeXX," or "You're So Hot I'm Going to Fuck You With the Lights On" will translate into holiday cheer. But it stands to reason that poon hounds deserve to have a Merry Christmas like everybody else.

I Love Rich's frontman, Rich Love, has great character as an overtly pretentious egomaniac who will bag your women like he's eating breakfast. It's a great gag, one that fits this brand of party rock. Musically, it's a lot of KISS ,with parts Judas Priest and a fistful of other '70s arena rock bands that you know and are afraid to admit you love.

According to the conspirators, Richmas traditions include festive costumes and making a gigantic mess, so no doubt the boys in I Love Rich will pull out all the stops. The band also promises everyone who attends will receive a gift. The bill is rounded out by Ignition Control and South Side punk rockers Fornication Station.
