The Lawrence Arms Channel Their Inner Headbangers, Juggalos In New Video

Last February Brendan Kelly, bassist-singer for Chicago pop-punkers The Lawrence Arms, told Chicagoist’s Katie Karpowicz in an interview he and his bandmates had a dozen songs in the can for their new album and anticipated a fall 2013 release.

That new album, Metropole, drops Jan. 28. A video for the first single, “Seventeener (17th and 37th),” shows the trio on the West Coast dressing up like 80s metalheads and donning Insane Clown Posse-style makeup in misguided attempts at relevancy and mass acceptance. Check it out below.

Metropole is The Lawrence Arms first full-length album in eight years and their first recording since 2009's Buttsweat and Tears EP.
