Here Are Our Favorite Chiberia Snow Day Videos

Yesterday was a snow day for many, with schools and numerous offices shutting down for the day or suggesting people work from home to avoid the sub-zero arctic temperatures. Which means everyone you knew was heading outside to throw boiling water into the air, the popular party trick in Chiberia.

Although we grew bored of our Facebook feed filling with video snippets of lazy attempts, we did find a few well done shots from everyones favorite snow day experiment.

Our friends over at Bloodshot Records took the slow motion route to really capture the water-to-snow effect and also opted for a full pot vs. coffee mug amount of water. We think it was a great team building exercise for the Bloodshot office yesterday.

Leave it to a professional photographer to capture a lovely angle and shot during this experiment. Cody Bralts, Local photo director for Ancestry Quarterly, was smart to shoot a video from the ground level vantage point to capture the water into snow falling softly.

Further proving that the slow-mo option is the way to go, Youtube user beeyes also offered up a pretty cool head-on vantage point. If you peek your head out your front door while watching you can almost feel the snow hitting your face!

There is the dark side to the boiling water into snow experiment. Micah learns the hard way that not only can throwing boiling water end in a few burns but can also help adhere your clothing to your metal porch door. An "A" for effort and for sharing your failure, Micah.

And last but not least, some of us aren't insane enough to layer up just to go throw boiling water outside for five minutes. For those folks, we improvise with entertaining ourselves during the frigid winter. Like using our frozen Snickers bar we found by our window to create some sweet improvisational drum music.
