There is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, readers. The wind chill advisory the Chicago area is under will end at noon, sparking a warming trend (such as it is) that will see the mercury rising past the zero degree mark in the afternoon. If all goes well we'll stay in a holding pattern overnight while this godforsaken cold front finally passes and the temperatures eventually jump to the upper 30s by the weekend.
See, it was only a passing thing.
