From The Vault Of Art Shay: A Personal Invitation

(Legendary Chicago-based photographer Art Shay has taken photos of kings, queens, celebrities and the common man in a 70-year career. This week Art has an exhibit to promote.)
(Ed. Note: The Museum of Contemporary Photography has just announced that our own Art Shay has just won the 2014 annual Silver Camera Award for distinguished photography. The Award will be presented Feb. 27 at the annual MoCP banquet.)
I've been working recently with Chicago's great Ann Nathan Gallery to hang a congeries of my pictures to her walls starting 5 p.m. Friday at 212 West Superior St. The opening runs until 8 p.m.
You're all invited—having seen some of these very pictures in Chicagoist as miniatures—set as decorative free jewels into some of my fascinating stories of real life these past 70 years.
If you can't get enough of Art Shay's words and photos, please check out the photographer's blog, which is updated regularly. Art Shay's book, Chicago's Nelson Algren, is also available at Amazon.
