It’s almost that time of year again when a bunch of local weirdos gather to totally trip out, man, and enjoy some mind-bending tunes by some of Chicago’s best psych-related bands. Psych Fest is returning for its fifth installment at The Hideout, and this year is looking to be its biggest yet as it expands from two days to three.

2014’s fest, named Five Levels Of The Experience: Chicago Psych Fest V, runs Jan. 23-25—Thursday through Saturday. The lineup has swelled to include an additional five acts for a total of 14. Several are familiar faces to Psych Fests prior, such as Outer Minds, Mako Sica, Velcro Lewis Group and Variety Lights. Not bad news, considering these stellar acts are what keep us coming back. Check out the full three-day lineup below.

Along with music, there is, of course, beer: Goose Island is featuring a “psych brew” specialty beer just for the event. There’ll also be DJs spinning between sets and, in case the music isn’t trippy enough for you, it will be accompanied by a light show each night by brownshoesonly.

Psych Fest V is Friday through Thursday, Jan. 23-25, at the The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia), $25 for three-day passes or $10 per day, 21+
