Video: Highland Park Native Heading To Winter Olympics

Highland Park native Jason Brown will head to Russia next month to represent team USA in figure skating at the 2014 Winter Olympics. He was chosen this past weekend after winning the free skate portion of the competition with a lively performance that netted him an impressive high score (Brown was shocked during the announcement) and saw audience members giving him a standing ovation before the performance was even over. Not to mention the announcers completely losing it over how good his skating was.
At just 19, he is only one year removed from figure skating junior competition rank, making this an impressive debut into his adult career. His short program this season is choreographed to Prince, so clearly he is a winner in our book. Check out his impressive free skate performance below.
