Fans of Pasta Puttana better get their fixes of the local pasta maker now. Owner Jessica Volpe announced Thursday she and her family are heading west and will be closing its West Town storefront March 15.

In an email Volpe said she's leaving Chicago with a bang.

Our final eight weeks will be chock full of farmer's markets, pasta classes, Valentine's Day specials, and your favorite Pasta Puttana products sold at all our regular outlets. No sleep till Brooklyn!

Even better news: We're taking to the internet in the form of Pasta Puttana's House of Pastatution. In it, we'll share our trips to Italy, original pasta recipes, flavor pairings, pasta-making techniques, and demonstration videos. The House will soon be in session! For regular updates, please follow us on Facebook.

Volpe and Pasta Puttana will certainly be missed. Her pastas have been an integral component of many a home meal for a few of us on the Chicagoist staff over the years.
