Use The City's Pothole Tracker To Navigate Chicago's Cratered Streets

Now that we know another round of snow will be followed by the return of harsh arctic air you can keep track of the number of potholes on Chicago's streets being repaired by crews over the past seven days with the city's official pothole tracker.
It's the latest thing being trotted out by the Emanuel administration to prove to residents the mayor is "Building a Better Chicago" (while letting the old one that was creaking along just fine before Rahm Emanuel was elected go to pot).
It's not merely a coincidence the city rolled this out after an audit by the Inspector General's office showed the city was lagging in pothole patching and repairing streetlights. The Chicago Department of Transportation claims to have patched over 625,000 potholes last year, but those numbers may not stand up to another OIG audit.
