Last Minute Plans: Teen River Nite At The Empty Bottle

King Tuts Tomb plays Teen River Nite tonight at the Empty Bottle.

For being a small, local label, Teen River puts out a ridiculous number of releases. The cassette label, run by Gordon and Katrina Stoneheart, has been around for about three years now, continuously pumping out material by some of our favorite little-known acts and introducing us to new stuff all the time.

Early last year, Teen River took over the Empty Bottle for a night to showcase music by a few of its many artists, and it’s doing the same in 2014 with a show featuring some old friends of the label as well as new acts with upcoming material. The label’s family is pretty big, so they had to whittle the list down quite a bit for this lineup: the night will feature the prog-punk of Wishgift, dreamy experimental sounds of Tarnation, post-punk of King Tuts Tomb and psychedelic noise of Headless Horse Head.

The show is free with RSVP, but you have to do so by 7 p.m. tonight through Ticketweb and there are no plus-ones, so your friend has to RSVP individually. Otherwise, it’s $8 per person. In the meantime, take a listen to some Teen River bands over at the label’s Bandcamp page.

Teen River Nite is tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western, 9 p.m., free with RSVP or $8, 21+
