If there's any good news to take from today's forecast, people, it's that the mercury will cross the zero degree mark today. How far past that threshold is another matter. Skilling Central predicts the high temp to be 1 degree while Accuweather forecasts a 5 degree high. There's a wind chill warning in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday, meaning the gusts will make it feel as low as 40 below out there. We cannot stress the importance of wearing layers and checking public transit schedules to make your commutes smoother. Metra has several service issues while CTA appears to be running smoothly. Area roads are still fakakta.
