Katherine Anne Confections, purveyor of sweet treats and some of the best homemade marshmallows around, is hosting a preview party tonight to showcase a new season of delicious treats. The night includes tastings of limited edition truffles made to order and caramels that the store will soon be releasing weekly. Drinks and savory bites will be served alongside. You’ll also be able to buy a limited quantity of some of the confections showcased and will be able to pre-order for future weeks releases.

Expect a wide variety to try since Katherine Anne is known for interesting flavor combinations. Some of the most intriguing truffles mentioned are the port and blue cheese (semisweet chocolate, ruby port and blue cheese), vegan option Mayan Cherry (bittersweet chocolate, Seedling Farms cherries, cayenne, habanero), Passion Fruit Ginger (white chocolate, passion fruit, ginger, pink peppercorn) and another vegan option, Raspberry Rose (semisweet chocolate, Seedling Farms raspberries, rose water, rose petals and made with almond milk). Some of the interesting caramel options include a candied carrot (honey caramel with maple candied carrots), grapefruit + star anise + cashew (grapefruit caramel infused with star anise and roasted cashews) and a banana bourbon (classic caramel infused with FEW Spirits bourbon and extra ripe bananas). A champagne marshmallow infused with bubbly and rose petals will also be available for enjoyment.

The preview party is tonight, Jan. 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 2745 W. Armitage. The evening is open-house style and they suggest to allow at least an hour to enjoy the offerings. The cost is $25 per person. Purchase tickets here.
