The Year of the Horse is almost here and it’s as good of an excuse as any to saddle up for some Chinese comfort food. Shaped like gold ingots and symbolizing wealth in China, dumplings are traditionally eaten on New Year’s Eve, but Yum Dum "Chief Dumpling Engineer" Jeff Wang will extend the occasion—and provide all the ingredients—so you can celebrate a few days late with the brains behind the latest food truck to race through Chicago streets.

From 2 to 4:30 p.m. this Saturday at the Garage, Wang will demonstrate the origami of folding dough and then set you galloping off to craft and fill your own creations. Class ends with a family-style meal, and you can register here or walk in the day of. The fee is $45 per person and feel free to BYOB.

The Garage is located at 116 N. Aberdeen.
