Former Mayor Richard M. Daley was hospitalized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Intensive Care Unit Friday evening after returning to Chicago after a business trip. Details are scarce as of post time, but NBC Chicago posted a statement from the law firm where Daley holds a counsel job saying the mayor was being monitored and evaluated. "Mayor Daley's family is with him and they are visiting between tests," according to Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. The Associated Press spoke to Daley spokeswoman Jackie Heard, who said Daley was "feeling disoriented" after attending a conference. The Sun-Times breaks down the former mayor's health history here.
