- Sam Zell, who nearly ran Tribune Co. into the ground with a heavily leveraged buyout that didn't affect his way of life at all, agreed with businessman Tom Perkins that wealthy businessmen are a persecuted minority in America. Zell told Bloomberg Television’s "In the Loop" Wednesday people "should talk about emulating the 1 percent. The 1 percent work harder, the 1 percent are much bigger factors in all forms of our society." Our response to that would be unfit to print. [Tribune]
