There are winter woes, and then there are winter woes. Albany Park resident Whitney Becke is having some serious winter woes, according to an email she sent Chicagoist.

Becke told Chicagoist that, as a result of a water main breaking around the corner from where she lives, her car was completely iced over.

"A water main broke on the 4800 block of Drake Avenue in Albany Park. Water flooded the street and was splashed on all cars lining the road," Becke wrote to Chicagoist.

"I have no idea what day the water main actually broke. There are other cars on the street just as frozen as mine," Becke said.

Becke attached a picture of her car, which she says is completely frozen until spring.

"There is about 6 inches of solid ice on one side of my car. It will be spring by the time this thaws... Awesome...," Becke wrote.

Though, with that said, Becke isn't taking the news of a frozen car lying down.

"Of course, the one day I wanted to get out to run errands, my car is frozen solid. I've never seen anything like it," Becke wrote. "I just bought a rubber mallet at the dollar store. Wish me luck..."

Good luck. What is it with Northwest side neighborhoods taking the brunt of winter's wrath?
