Can you feel the tips of your fingers, readers? If they're tingly that's yet another indication we're in store for another day of bitter cold weather through at least Tuesday. Today's forecast is one of those rare occasions where Skilling Central and Accuweather are in agreement on a predicted high. Don't expect the mercury to crawl past 10 degrees as the Chicago area is in the throes of another round of arctic air and a wind chill advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. For those of you who prefer sunshine to clouds with your polar vortex take solace in the fact we're in store for mostly clear skies today.

Once the sun sets (and need we remind you that we're seeing plenty of sun after 5 p.m. these days?) the cold will squeeze the area like a python, dropping overnight lows below zero across the area. Once we get past Tuesday the mercury will climb and we'll see a genuine thaw toward the end of the week.
