The last thing most of us here at Chicagoist want to do after scarfing down some bacon is go for a run. We’d rather sleep, then wake up and eat some more bacon.

Bacon Chase aims to change that, even if it’s only .05 kilometers at a time. The June 7 run at Montrose Beach is a 5K run with bacon bits stations scattered along the course and unlimited bacon at the finish line. (Hopefully there will be plenty of ambulances in case there are some cardiac episodes.)

If running five kilometers for unlimited bacon doesn’t seem like fun the organizers also have a .05 kilometer “blitz” run to get you to the bacon. You can run 164 feet for the candy of the pig, right? Of course you can.

All participants will receive unlimited bacon, along with a bacon-themed t-shirt, a race “bib,” and a free Bloody Mary for those runners of legal age. Proceeds from the event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
