Pencil This In: LitMash At Haymarket Pub & Brewery

Chicago Slam Works' "The LitMash" is an extension of the poetry slam format started by Marc Smith at Green Mill decades ago where poets, musicians, storytellers, comics and others compete against each other in a judged competition for a $100 cash prize. This month's featured performers include Jamila Woods, Monte LaMonte, Tumelo Khoza, Demetrius Amparan, Erin Diamond and Renee Albrecht-Mallinger. The shenanigans kick off 8 p.m. tonight at Haymarket Pub & Brewery. (737 W. Randolph St.) The show starts at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7:30 p.m.
