First let's wish a Happy 177th Birthday to the City of Chicago, a city besieged on all fronts by snow, cold, salt and apathetic politicians. You're still home, we love you and you've earned your birthday paczek even though there's a one-hour wait for one at Bridgeport Bakery right now.

The weather could be warmer out there if you're in line for paczki but 14 degrees at post time may as well be 45 with the winter we've had. Today's forecast calls for highs in the mid- to upper-20s with some early snow and light winds. The clouds, already thick like cotton candy, with grow even thicker in the evening and overnight and bring some late-night snow just in time for your morning commute.
It's supposed to get better, at least that's what Skilling Central and the other weather folk say. It won't be fast enough for us but it will get better.
