Pencil This In: 'Queen Of The Sun' Movie Night

Taggart Siegel's documentary Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling Us? is an ultimately uplifting journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive, weaving an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world including Michael Pollan, Gunther Hauk and Vandana Shiva.

The Green City Market Junior Board will host a screening of Queen of the Sun 7 p.m. Thursday at Patagonia Chicago (1800 N. Clybourn). Representatives from Growing Power Chicago, Growing Home, Inc., and Chicago Honey Co-op will be speaking about their local bee-keeping operations, and Farmhouse Chicago will be selling popcorn and Seasons for a small fee.
