We're five days into March and Chicago's impersonation of Minnesota continues with the snow showers falling as of post time. It's the 45th day of measurable snow this season and the most to occur through March 5 in 129 years, according to Skilling Central. So yeah, another weather record we don't want.

As for the rest of today's forecast take cold comfort we woke up to 20-degree temperatures instead of starting today with single digits. Expect two to four inches of snowfall today under cloudy skies and a high in the upper 20s. As we head into the evening the temps will dip slightly but only to the lower 20s while the winds die down and set the stage for the arrival of more moderate temperatures this weekend. By "moderate" we mean highs in the mid-30s Saturday and Sunday. As for when the temperatures will finally match the season, look a bit down the road.
