We almost want to play hooky today and walk around the city enjoying a tropical 43-degree day. That's right, Chicagoistos y Chicagoistas, weather that is normal for this time of year is finally here and you may want to resist the impulse to treat today like a muggy mid-July day. Skilling Central says today's forecast features the highest temperatures since a 49-degree day Feb. 20—a reminder of how brutal this winter has been as we barely remember that.

We're also due for partly sunny skies and south to southwest winds that could gust up to 25 mph later this afternoon. So expect a lot of slush with your warmth today. The overnight lows will dip slightly below freezing and there will be a chance for some more snow overnight and Saturday before the mercury rebounds back into the mid-40s Sunday and into the 50s Monday. It will be more fits and starts before we start to see some seasonable weather around here.
