Today's Weather: It's Here (For A While)

There is some light snow falling outside Chicagoist's Bridgeport headquarters as I type this which runs counter to the fact that spring is finally here and today's forecast is perfect for balancing eggs on the sidewalk and walking around with windbreakers and light clothing.

After this morning flurry (such as it is) ends expect partly sunny skies and a high near 50 degrees. Those partly sunny skies will give way to clouds this evening and a good chance for showers, possibly some freezing rain overnight and into Friday morning where we could be flirting with 60 degrees tomorrow. Oh, wouldn't that be fun! The weekend forecast, however, shows that warmth is a bit fleeting as the mercury takes a downturn back into the weekend and will hold in the mid-30s through mid-week next week. Today and tomorrow, though, you should open your windows and get rid of that stuffy winter air in your homes and offices.
