Musical nerds unite—this week in Chicago theater features a double dose of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

CATS
It might be one of musical theater’s most polarizing shows, but we’re excited to see Chicago leading lady-favorite Heidi Kettenring show her stuff as the grand feline Grizabella. The show runs Wednesday, March 26 through Sunday, May 25.

Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Dr., Lincolnshire, 847-634-0200 or online.

Dessa Rose
Bailiwick is opening its season with the Chicago premiere of the musical drama Dessa Rose, which chronicles the unlikely friendship of two women during the pre-Civil War era. The show runs through Saturday, April 5.

Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave., 733-871-3000 or online.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
There’s something about Joseph that inspires repeat visits. Whatever it is, we’re suckers for this zippy Andrew Lloyd Webber show about a Biblical dreamer and his coat of many colors. The show runs through Sunday, March 30.

Broadway in Chicago, Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph, 312-384-1502 or online.
