Bon Appetit’s Chicago Gourmet festival is in September, but in the meantime they are hosting a quarterly dinner series called Beyond Gourmet. The goal of the series is for diners to learn through interaction with Chicago’s chefs, mixologists and sommeliers. The series kicks off on Wednesday at The Bristol and there are a few seats left.
The focus of the dinner this week is spirits and mixologist David Willhite will join Southern Wine & Spirit’s Debbi Peek and Bridget Albert to teach guests about creating cocktails at home. Chef Chris Pandel will also give guests some tips about pairing spirits with food. The menu includes dishes like a smoked tri tip with carrot and barley salad and cumin-scented kale, which will be paired with a cocktail called the “Grilled Sangrita” that features Altos Olmeca Reposado Tequila.
Beyond Gourmet’s a A Spirited Cocktail Dinner at The Bristol (2152 N Damen Ave) is Wednesday, March 26th at 6:30 p.m. and is $100 a person. Call The Bristol to make reservations at (773) 862-5555.
