Half Acre Is Expanding

Half Acre Beer Co. has been one of the leaders in Chicago's craft beer renaissance ever since Gabriel Magliaro began contract brewing lager back in 2007. Fans of Half Acre have responded by buying as much of the beer as possible and Magliaro and his investors expanded their Lincoln Avenue brewery as much as they could in order to keep up with the demand.
Now they're expanding again to a second location in the Bowmanville neighborhood. In a blog post Monday Half Acre announced they purchased a building at 2025 W. Balmoral Ave., a five-minute walk short distance from the current brewery, and will build a second brewery. "The two buildings will work together to accomplish one comprehensive result," the blog post reads.
The additional space will allow us to expand our distribution footprint to the entire Chicagoland area, add more onsite enjoyment at both locations and explore our interests as brewers and beyond. The expansion process won't be fast, but we can now remove many questions and begin to mold the future into the exact shape we feel is best.
The addition of a second brewery will allow Half Acre to better meet demand across Chicago and there will also be "on-site enjoyment" of the company's offerings.
