Mike Judge's Silicon Valley Tells The Hard Truths About The Startup World

This post is brought to you by HBO.

There's no denying startups and Silicon Valley are contentious issues these days, but Mike Judge is no stranger to it. Inspired by his own experiences as an engineer in the Silicon Valley of yesteryear, Judge's new comedy series follows the awkward trials of a programmer and his friends when a bidding war erupts over their valuable new algorithm.

Silicon Valley will focus on what's become a common sentiment: the people most qualified to succeed in the startup world are the least capable of handling success. In some ways, the show is the offspring of Judge's blasé Gen X masterpiece Office Space, but this project promises to tell the story of a new breed of nerd, a breed defined less by the size of its semiconductors and more by the quality of its iPhone UX design.Advertisement
