A splash of Andrew Lloyd Webber balances out heavy stage tales of revenge and betrayal.

God’s Work
The Goodman teams up with the youth ensemble Albany Park Theater Project for God’s Work, a play inspired by the true story of a young woman with 17 siblings and a spiteful fundamentalist for a father. The show runs through Saturday, April 19.

Goodman Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn, 312-443-3800 or online.

Evita
Everyone’s favorite Dior-clad, Argentinian first lady is making an appearance at the JPAC. There’s not much we wouldn’t do for a night of snappy Andrew Lloyd Webber tunes—including trekking it out to Cicero. The show runs through Saturday, April 12.

Jedlicka Performing Arts Center, 3801. S. Central Ave., 708-656-8000 or online.

L’Imbecile
The ever-provocative Babes with Blades Theater Company is putting their spin on the classic Verdi opera Rigoletto. The show runs Saturday, April 5 through Saturday, May 10.

Rivendell Theatre, 5779 N. Ridge Ave., 773-904-0391 or online.
