The White Sox and their fans got to enjoy some textbook perfect weather for opening day at U.S. Cellular Field Monday. For the Cubs home opener today, not so much. Oh, there will be a high of 50 degrees today but it will come early and then things will get cool in a hurry. Skilling Central predicts the temperature will be in the low 40s by first pitch at Wrigley Field with southwest winds gusting up to 50 mph.

If you're heading to the Frosty Confines for the game make plans to walk a bit. Northbound Red Line trains will not stop at the Addison station from 10:50 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. because crews are doing track work. This is especially imposing for riders with disabilities as the next station north, Sheridan, doesn't have wheelchjair access. CTA says the work absolutely cannot wait. Great planning there.
