Violence once again touches rapper Chief Keef’s extended circle. Mario Hess, an aspiring rapper who went by the names Big Glo and Blood Money, was murdered Wednesday night in Englewood.
Hess’ body was found on the 5600 block of South Elizabeth Street around 9:30 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds. Hess was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead nearly an hour later.
Hess was a second cousin of Chief Keef and, at age 30, the oldest member of the Glory Boyz Entertainment crew. He was recently signed to Interscope Records which also houses Keef (legal name: Keith Cozart) and was working on his debut album. His cousin, Renaldo Reuben Hess, told the Sun-Times, “this was his dream and he finally got his foot in the door.”
“But that’s how it goes in Chicago. He really wanted to get off the streets,” Renaldo Hess added.
