River North Dance Chicago presents their Spring Engagement in a single performance tomorrow night. The program is weighted with pieces from longtime Artistic Director Frank Chaves and anchored by the revival of his celebrated piece from 2006, “Underground Movements.” The Chicago Children’s Choir joins dancers on stage for a seven part series that shows a community rising with a tribal-like beginning.

Other Chaves works include “Stormy Monday,” an excerpt from his work “Eva” featuring the music of Eva Cassidy, and “The Good Goodbyes” with original music from the Artistic Director of The Chicago Children’s choir, Josephine Lee. Also of note on the program is a choreographer from another distinguished local company, Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre. In “Dawn,” his fourth work for RNDC, Iega Jeff uses Carmina Burana and Kronos Quartet’s interpretation of Sigur Ros’s popular post-rock music.

River North Dance Chicago’s Spring Engagement is this Saturday, April 12 at Auditorium Theater. Show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27 to $70. 50 E. Congress Pkwy.
